Wedneaday's Class

Today's class we started with the explanation of Theorems 7-4, 7-5, 7-6. The definitions are:

Theorem 7-4: IF: DE//BC and DE intersects AB and AC
THEN: AD:DB = AE:EC

Theorem 7-5: IF: DE intersects AB and AC

AD:DB = AE:EC

THEN: DE//BC

Theorem 7-6: IF: DE intersects AB and BC at their midpoints.
THEN: DE//AC
DE = 1:2 AC

After the theorems we studied Corollarys 7-1, 7-2. The definitions are:

Corollary 7-1: IF: m, n and p are //

AC and DF are tranversals

THEN: AB:BC = DE:EF

Corollary 7-2 : IF: m, m and o are //

AC is a transversal

AB is congruent to BC
THEN: any other transversal is cut in congruent parts

We finished the class with the homework for tomorrow which is pag. 366 #12 - 29 exept 26.
That was all.
